We had SUCH a wonderful visit with my dear friend Beth. I was just telling her a little bit ago that I was uploading all these pictures to the blog and how fun it is to see all the pictures of our kids enjoying themselves and playing together. I would totally drag my kids up there just so I could spend time with her, but it totally thrills my heart to see how much fun our kids have together and LOVE visiting with their friends too!! :)
Beth totally outdid herself for us - she cooked us some FABULOUS food that we all SO enjoyed!! She is a foodie like me (with a more grown-up palate!) and so we always have so much fun talking about new recipes that we've tried or seen. (She made a new blueberry crumb cake for breakfast one day and it was awesome!)
My favorite part of our visit was when all the kids were resting at naptime or asleep at night. We would sit on the couch (or at the kitchen counter...or table....) and just talk and talk. Uninterrupted. About our lives. Our kids. Our struggles. Our families. It's just so wonderful to be able to have a friend that knows you SO well. You don't have to do a whole lot of explaining - they just know! As we were talking, we realized that it had been 5 years since we had both lived in Virginia together - I couldn't believe it! It doesn't feel that long at all!! But that's a testimony to how close our friendship is - that even state lines haven't put distance between us!!!
Thank you so much for everything Beth - it was so refreshing and I LOVED our visit! I'm so thankful that God put you into my life and can't wait until our next visit!!! :)
