Curlers

She wanted to give it a try, so we did....but her hair is really too thin to hold much curl for long.  She got a kick out of it though!  :)

A Fun Little Project

David had this awesome idea for a lighting effect on our stage...but it required about 2000 styrofoam balls to be glued to some black boards....I encouraged him to make it a party and invite some volunteers from W&A to join us and get it done MUCH faster!  :)
We had some GREAT friends come and help us!

This was about half of the completed boards.

The life of a PK - Spending a Friday night at church in one of the Life Group rooms watching a movie while mom and dad work on the staging project :)
 Sleeping in a different room...
...and the big boys in yet another room. Success!  :)

Happy Momma

Driving tonight and I look over and see this - Josiah singing to the Newsboys with the CD liner in his hand.  LOVE it!!!  :)

Enjoy it while it lasts boys...

While out on a walk this morning, we found "Cooper" roaming around.  He had a tag on with his name, address, and phone number, but no one was home.  We called and left a message with his owner and then took him home to play with until his family could come get him.  Caleb was BEYOND excited!

We took MANY more walks...

Cooper was a very sweet, friendly little dog...Judah just LOVED him!

I was fine to see him go when his family got off the school bus later on, but these little boys would have been HAPPY to keep him!  :)

Music Education Week Continues

This morning was Josiah's turn - the band played a few of their songs before school.  Josiah has REALLY enjoyed the trombone this year and is excited to continue in middle school!

Songs I really should know...

Jacob's class got to sing a few of their songs before school today.  One was a song to the tune of "Yankee Doodle" that lists all of the counties in South Carolina, and another one was the order of all of the presidents in the United States!  Music is a powerful thing!  :)

(Jacob was WAY in the back by that brick column...he was a wee bit embarrassed...)

The FIRST one!

Callie FINALLY lost her first tooth tonight - she pulled it right out herself!!!  Her new tooth had started coming in behind it, and the dentist assured us that once that baby tooth came out, it would move right on forward. She has waited so patiently for this first tooth and was SO excited to finally lose it!!

Almost party time!

We don't usually do BIG parties - but Callie begged and begged for a "real" party - meaning not just our family :).  It was perfect timing with the "Frozen" movie coming out, so I agreed to do a "Frozen" party at our house with all of her little girl friends.  And she wanted ALL of her friends there.  This girl is the lone extrovert in our introverted family, so to say that she is excited is an understatement...

Our new favorite game

The consignment sale was last week and I found The Game of Life there - I was SO excited!  It was one of my favorite games growing up and I knew they would love it - and they are OBSESSED!!!  Even Callie totally is in to it.  It was tough for Josiah initially - he was putting way too much real life pressure into it (i.e. I HAVE to go to college...but the card says I'm going to be a doctor?  I don't want to be a doctor!).  Once I got him to relax a little and realize that it was just a game - not real life decisions - he enjoyed it more!

Judah, meanwhile, was just happy to read one of his "football" books.  (I always check out a few nonfiction books for him about various sports - they are totally his favorites!  It's hilarious!

Quick trip to Greenville

David's mom was making a quick visit to see her brother, who lives in Greenville.  We couldn't pass up the opportunity to squeeze a quick visit in.  We met at Cracker Barrel (there was a pretty hilarious miscommunication about this between David and I, but I will leave it alone.  Let's just say that his family doesn't exactly communicate like mine does on trips).
We were able to see David's sister Debbie and her friend Bambi, David's cousin Steve, and Uncle Al and Aunt Evelyn as well as David's mom.

We went back to Uncle Al and Aunt Evelyn's house and chatted for another hour or so.  The kids were GREAT and very patient in keeping themselves entertained in setting that was not at all about them.  They were happy to run around in the yard while David visited with his family.  It made David very excited about his upcoming reunion with his cousins!!

AWANA Grand Prix 2014

Here we go - off to the races again!

Always makes me nervous when we are racing brother against brother...

We had a lot of fun - great attitudes and great sportsmanship!  :)

Monkey Joe's with two little monkeys!

These two are DEFINITELY two little monkeys!  Caleb and Wilson are perfectly matched for each other - they loved bouncing and jumping all around!

It was circus night at Chick-fil-A - they were giving away free tickets to the circus - which we didn't win - and also cotton candy!  Judah was a fan!  :)
First night in his big boy bed!!  Oh my goodness - did I really just take the crib down for the last time???  Big stuff over here.  Moved Caleb out of the room with Josiah and Jacob and put him in Judah's room.  Hopefully this will give the big boys a little bit of "space" and take some of the little boy toys out of there.  They are growing up!

One Fish, Two Fish...

It was Dr. Seuss week at school to coincide with his birthday!  Jacob's teacher asked me to come and bring a special snack for their special R.E.A.D time - so it was blue/red jello and red swedish fish.  They loved it!

You don't have to guess much with Jacob - his face says it all!  :)
For their reading time, they got to bring blankets or stuffed animals to cuddle up with :)

After school, the older four kids had dentist appointments.  Judah kept entertained once he found this magazine.
Uh oh....looks like Judah got into the pantry....AGAIN!!!  Gotta figure out how to lock these dorrs!

My little lion of Judah - LOVES lions!  :)  His lovey is a lion -he got it from a friend of mine at my baby shower and he LOVES it!  I was going through bins of clothes in the attic and found an old lion costume that the kids all wore.  He saw it, grabbed it, and LIT up - he LOVES lions!  :)
