On Friday, we loaded up to head back to the pediatrician. The older kids stayed with David (Friday is his day off PTL) and the younger boys went with me. We had gone for Judah's first check up on Tuesday and he looked great but hadn't started gaining weight yet. He was 8 lbs. 6 oz at birth, we discharged from the hospital on Sunday at 8 lbs 4 oz, and on Tuesday he was 7 lbs 15 oz. I knew my milk was coming in, so the doctor wanted us to come back on Friday just to be sure that he was gaining weight again. When we went on Tuesday, I took Caleb with me to have the doctor look at his face. Dr. Cope took one look at him and said "oh my!". He had a staph infection. I felt horrible. I told Dr. Cope that I was sorry and that I am not a horrible, neglectful mom...it's just that I was busy having a baby :). Dr. Cope laughed and gave me two prescriptions for him and said he'd be fine. Must have scratched a bug bite or something and spread it all over his face.
It was amazing how quickly Caleb's face cleared up. Dr. Cope gave BOTH boys an A+ at their check up! (Yes, I let Caleb wear his baseball helmet to the doctor...why not?) Judah weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz - his birthweight - so we knew he was doing just great!
Alli and her kids came by to get to meet Judah - they had been dying to but a few of her kids had fevers earlier in the week so she was trapped until they were better. She was happy to finally get to meet him! :)
And then Tutu arrived!! (Do you hear me breathing a HUGE sigh of relief?) We were all SO happy to see her!!!!
Sitting on the couch filling in my Mom on the details of the week - oh....so....glad to have my mom here!!!
