First Piano Lessons with Tutu!

On Wednesday morning, we headed out to Mom's music store to get the boys their books. I was SO excited after talking with mom the night before and getting our game plan together. The boys were super excited when we told them about it, and Mom wanted to be able to teach them their first lesson! She told them that when she was a little girl, her dad was her piano teacher and she had to go out the front door, knock, and come in and say "Hello Mr. Hill" - to her dad! All part of making it "official" and something to be taken seriously! The boys thought this was hilarious and wanted to walk in her front door just like her students did too! :)
BIG smiles for Josiah - he was SERIOUSLY excited about this!

Callie sat on Mom's lap for about 2 minutes and then I took her downstairs so they could have a real lesson.
Now it's Jacob's turn! He was very excited too - he surprised me. I wasn't sure how he was going to react, but he was thrilled!

Their lessons went great and we're excited to continue at home! The boys decided that their lesson day would be Fridays - which works great for me. Josiah said it should be Friday because he doesn't have any homework on Fridays. And with David home on Fridays, I think it will work out well for him to be able to help with the younger two so I can do their lessons uninterrupted. We'll see how it goes - but we're ALL excited! :)

i have a boy in the neighborhood that wants me to teach him... he is 11 and plays the violin quite well. that means he is familiar with the treble cleff but not the bass. i had a suggestion of faver & faver (or faber not sure of spelling). what does your mom like to use? he wants to start next wednesday...
