All Dressed Up...and Somewhere FABULOUS to Go!!! (Monday, June 23)

Kelli let me borrow this amazing dress and shoes for our big evening! It was SO fun getting all dressed up! This was the view from our balcony - the ocean was RIGHT across the street behind the palm trees! It was awesome!
My handsome hubby - you sort of can see the ocean in this one.
They brought us dessert with a candle in it to celebrate our anniversary (but they said, "don't worry - we're not going to sing to you or anything like that!")
Dessert was SO yummy. It was a caramel apple thing in this pastry crust - with ice cream on top. WOW!

It was so neat having sort of a "recreated" honeymoon. We did a lot of things that were like deja-vu from our honeymoon. We went to a timeshare in Florida both weeks, travelled somewhere else for one night both weeks (honeymoon week to Disney, this trip to Key West), and both times my mom and sisters made a little "goody basket" for us to take. On our honeymoon, we took it on the plane with us, and it had a slice of our wedding cake, some yummy snacks, some sparkling cider, etc. This time around, our goody bag had an issue of Runner's World, some snacks, champagne, and a gift certificate to Ruth's Chris' Steak House!!! So we got all dressed up for dinner on Monday night. Neither of us had ever been to a Ruth's Chris' before, but had heard how incredible the food is. We were NOT disappointed. It really was probably the best meal we'd ever had. The atmosphere is amazing, the service is spectacular, and the food is just unlike anything we'd ever had before. And since we had the gift certificate, the practical part of me didn't have to feel guilty about spending the money for it!!! I had a wonderful filet (LITERALLY melts in your mouth) and potatoes au gratin (sooo creamy and delicious). David had the "mixed grill" plate which included a crab cake, petit filet, and stuffed chicken breast, along with some steamed broccoli. Everything was just fabulous. Dessert was also just the perfect ending. It was such a treat having a fancy night out - so thanks to the 4 K's for the wonderful gift to us - it was definitely a memory!
