Heaven on a Plate!

While I was folding laundry this afternoon, I watched an episode of Paula Deen - anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE this lady!!! Anyways, she did an episode all about cheese (I mean really!!!) and she made the most remarkable dish - deep fried macaroni and cheese!!! I know - doesn't seem to go hand in hand with my new workout routine, but I was dying!! It looked so good!! She took a recipe of macaroni and cheese from her restaurant, chilled it over night in the pan. Then she cut it into squares, wrapped the squares in bacon (!!!) and deep fried it!! Holy cow - does it get any better than that??? Now you all know my guilty pleasure!! If I ever were to pop up missing, I may be in Savannah, GA dining at the Lady & Sons restaurant eating deep fried macaroni!

You and your mac & cheese! Hilarious! Sounds good and you know she never spares a calorie to make sure something is yummy! I don't think she's a fat free mayo kind of girl...hummm...sorry about that one! :)

haha! It does sound good. I am a mac n cheese fan myself, but it doesn't mesh well with weight watchers...at least not Paula Deen's recipe:) Lean Cuisine has a pretty good frozen one. Obviously it can't compete with a full-fat homemade recipe, but for a low-cal fix it does the job:)

PS. Sorry to hear about Jacob's fever. Hopefully he feels better soon!

Heaven?! I don't think so!!! I have a scrunched face just reading about it. And don't get me started on Paula Deen-we definitely do not have anything in common today Katy!! Good thing friendships aren't based around Paula and mac-n-cheese!

That's so funny - I didn't know you were a Paula Deen fan - I'm a Food Network NUT! That's my go-to station when nothing else is on- between Paula, Rachel & Giada - I could watch it all day long!! Gotta love Paula not sparing a single calorie or gram of fat!!! That dish sound delish! Hey, maybe one day we can schedule a ladies trip to Savannah!!! The line is always sooooo long down there!!

Sounds like something you need to make for the end of the season Beth Moore Bible Study brunch. I think Mac N Cheese can be a brunch item, especially if bacon is involved!

Sounds good to me even as fatty as it sounds. It's fun to indulge a bit and break the healthy rules.

I LOVE Paula Dean! I would totally be in for a weekend trip to Savannah. It's one of my favorite places to visit. Enjoy every calorie-filled bite. You can work it off later :)

I laughed and laughed at your blog. I am forever in search of the perfect mac and cheese recipe. So, I am with you there 100%! Martha makes a good one with tomatoes in it. However, I could do without your leading lady, Paula Deen...but she can DEFINATELY cook! Her fudge pie is very yummy! Funny, I am truly a southern girl, but her drawl drives me nuts.

You have to enjoy your food. I am a firm believer in that...and I worked with cardiac patients before I had kids! Everyone has to splurge now and then...and a great mac and cheese is the perfect reason to do it! What is an extra hour at the gym, right?? :)
