The Olympic Spirit

We pulled out the sofa bed and the kids were SO excited to have a slumber party out there while they watched the opening ceremonies.
Boy, did they pass out!!!

We'd all been looking SO forward to the Olympics finally getting underway on Friday night. We let the boys stay up and we all got in our jammies and settled in on the couch to watch the opening ceremonies. It was QUITE a spectacular show - definitely the best I'd ever seen. The boys were completely riveted - and even interested in the parade of nations (although annoyed that they had to wait so long for America). They fell asleep before America came through, but watched the rest of it and the lighting of the torch the next morning. It has been so fun to see them enjoying it as much as David and I do. These next 2 weeks are going to be very tiring, because we'll stay up way too late to watch most of it! Thank heavens for our DVR so at least we can skip the commercials! :) The boys have learned what several of the other countries' flags look like, and are LOVING seeing all the medals that America is winning. We've DEFINITELY got the Olympic spirit over here! :)

You should check out my friend Sarah's blog. She has a medal tracker on it. She has three boys and they are loving the olympics too!
