May I now present Mr. and Mrs. Jake & Crystal Gillikin

My favorite thing to do at EVERY wedding I go to is to watch the groom as he first sees his bride come down the aisle. Jake was BEAMING when he saw Crystal! You can see his mom on the front row, and his dad (John) was his best man. Jake had told us the week before at band practice that he wasn't nervous at all. He looked a wee bit green when he first came out, and got a bit emotional when he saw Crystal, but then was just BEAMING!
I wish I had a better picture of the girls' dresses, but this gives you the idea. They were BEAUTIFUL! A soft, pale yellow, and then each girl had a different color sash around the top that matched the sash that was tied on her flowers (which were all different colors of bright roses - gorgeous).

On Saturday, we had the privilege of attending the wedding of some friends of ours, Jake and Crystal. Jake's dad has played with guitar us in the Kinetic band since our church launched the service more than 3 years ago. Jake has played with us for the last year and while on breaks from college. He and his girlfriend, Crystal, got married on Saturday, and David and I were so excited to celebrate the day with them. It is always so fun to go to weddings and relive our own and remember what our day was like. I love every bit of weddings - the dresses, the flowers, the nervous grooms, everything! :) Their wedding was beautiful, and their service was very God-centered. Heidi and Craig offered to keep our kids, and even agreed to let them sleepover and bring them to church for us the next morning. It was SO freeing to be able to enjoy the reception without worrying about getting back to take a babysitter home or to pick up the kids. Thanks again Heidi - it was such a relaxing evening for us! And congratulations Jake & Crystal - it was a beautiful day!
