I have this thing about buying gas. I sort of make myself crazy over trying to find the absolute cheapest gas that I can. I have several stations around my house that I always have my eyes on to see which one will be cheapest for me to fill up. It drives David nuts. That I'll go a bit out of my way to save a few pennies per gallon. But I just do. And everyone knows how much more expensive gas is now a days. I'm thankful that our area has been pretty insulated from feeling the effects of Ike that alot of people had. It's been going down again for a few weeks, which has been nice. David teases me that in EVERY other area of my life, I HAVE to leave margin. I hate being late, and would rather leave early in order to avoid it. I make sure to have plenty of toilet paper to avoid running out, etc. EXCEPT for filling up with gas. I wait until the last possible minute to fill up. Probably to put off paying the $50 or $60 that it takes to fill up the van now. Doesn't matter that it lasts me almost 2 weeks. It's alot of money!
Anyways, this morning I was down to the last few drops of gas and finally stopped to fill up on the way to the gym. It was $3.45. Not bad. Had gone down almost 10 cents in the last week, which was GREAT news. Well, on our way back home from the Y, I nearly had a wreck when I saw that the same station was now $3.39! I swear they just did it to annoy me! ONE hour later! I even had thought about waiting, but the light had been on for a while and I didn't want to push it. (Wouldn't it be terrible to run out of gas simply because of stubborness?) Well, they proved me right! I'll keep on waiting next time!!!! (David is going to DIE when he reads this...he'll still think I'm ridiculous!)
