Not QUITE the Saturday I had planned....

So yesterday didn't QUITE go as I had envisioned. For one thing, no baby. But for another thing, virtually no husband either! David was flat on his back almost the whole day - and passed out asleep from the Benadryl about 90% of it too. His foot was terrible yesterday - so he tried to keep it up and iced and stay off of it. Which should help the recovery, but doesn't help the mood of an overdue, pregnant woman. We'll just say not my best day as "supportive wife"! I was a little nervous about giving him benadryl - knowing it would knock him out, and afraid I'd go into labor while he was comatose!! But we made it through.

This morning went surprisingly well. I was SHOCKED to get to church this morning and see him both upright and with shoes on - neither of which I thought was going to happen when we went to bed on Saturday night. He made it through the morning, although he was DYING when he got home. Back to the couch, ice back on, took more benadryl. The pain isn't as bad today as it had been yesterday, but the swelling is still awful. It just looks terrible, I think. But we've made it through.

I got the joy of going to church on the Sunday AFTER my due date - for the 4th time now. It's always entertaining, we'll say, to hear the comments that are made. But all is well here. We'll see what the week holds!!

You were mentioned in our family prayers just an hour ago. JD asked the children which of their friends they would like to pray for tonight and Sam said (or rather yelled) "JOSIAH you know he has moved to a new place and has to learn all new rules and all that stuff and meet all new people and go to a new school and a new church and he needs to learn what he can do and can't do in all those place". All that was said without taking a breath! You know how he gets with his large eyes and cute voice. Just know that we are thinking of you!

Your blog is running my life right now... check in the morning, after lunch, before bed. Now it's my middle of the night potty break (which is an age thing ~ haha) and I am checking on YOU! By the way, (you will LIKE this) I never went to church after my due date, didn't make it that far along. Sorry to rub that in, that was probably not nice of me but it is the middle of the night and here I am thinking of YOU.

I'm totally stalking your blog these days. Checking in about 8 times a day, just waiting and waiting and waiting for some baby news! So thanks for keeping us posted! I promise I'll do a little happy dance when we finally get some baby news. In the meantime, I'll just keep refreshing my screen :)

sandi is cracking me up! :) i'm sorry your weekend didn't go as planned! i wish you had been the one on the couch being pampered, sleeping the day away...although if David had been up he'd had you walking the town maybe to get things started...well not with church on the horizon...you should have been the one laid out! :)
