Time to Weigh in (he he) on Paula Deen again!!

Okay ladies. The last time I did a post about Paula Deen, I had the most interesting responses from all of you!! Here's another one. I saw her show last week and it was all about brunch foods - which I LOVE!!! My family LOVES breakfast foods, and I always feel like we (generically speaking) enjoy them so much because we eat them the least (we don't fix the big, yummy breakfasts often enough in my opinion!). Anyways, I digress. One of the items that Paula fixed I have been thinking about all week - it really struck me, but I'm trying to figure out if it's the weirdest sounding thing, or if it sounds absolutely delicious!! So that's where you all come in - what do you think? Here's what it was:

It was a breakfast sandwich type thing. She basically made a basic hamburger patty, and then put a fried egg and bacon strips on top. Now, I've seen the fried egg bit before, but have never personally tried it...have heard it's FAB though - sort of the steak and eggs idea. Okay, so hamburger, egg, and bacon on top. Here's the real kicker though - she served it in between Krispy Kreme glazed donuts!!!! She and her guest tasted it and said it was absolutely incredible (i realize they couldn't say it was terrible on TV), but the idea of the sweet and savory together makes me very curious. So what do you think? (I realize you all are going think I'm pregnant after posting such an odd food thing....NOPE!)

as I mentioned the other day, i'm just not sure about this one. first, i'm wondering how you would get all of that stacked and be able to actually bite into it. second, while i'm all about sweet and savory, i just don't know if i would like it all together. i'm still too scared to try the egg on a burger thing so the donut just puts it over the edge for me...even though i love the thought of all the ingredients and ever since you mentioned this whole thing to me i've been craving krispy kreme donuts! thanks a lot!!! :)

Until I got to the part about the pregnancy thing I was totally going to ask if you were pregnant. So are you?......HA!!

I love bacon, egg and cheeses...we make them all the time on bagels, but I have to say EEWwwwwwww icky eewwwwww to this one. Sort of makes me nautious not to mention fat grams and carbs. But I am all about both individually. So sorry!! and don't mean to be so dramatic.

Sounds absolutely horendous to me - Krispy Kremes need nothing else with them, they are a perfect food by themselves!

I'm not so sure about this combo - the burger, eggs & bacon sound great and the donuts sound great, but NOT together!!! However, Paula Deen does have an amaaaazing way to make everything taste deliciouso!! You'll definitely have to let us know!!!!

What a way to ruin the perfection that is a Krispy Kreme donut!!! I don't think I would even try this one:)

GROSS ME OUT!!! I AM pregnant and the whole idea of this makes me want to get sick! WHY would you ruin a great piece of bacon like that, and secondly, I agree with Nat....WHO, even Paula Dean, would DARE ruin the remarkable Krispy Kreme!!!! Oh....I'm going to go get sick now! He he!

Dave says...only in the south!! :)

Okay, my first thought is of course the Texas Inn in downtown Lynchburg. They serve these with a wierd relish on toast. Everyone always raved about the "cheesy westerns" but I think and now know that it is really disgusting!! I'd have to say that minus the hamburger patty, I would love a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and Krispy Kremes!!!

i don't know about this one! i like all of those things, just not necesarilly all put together. if i did try it, i don't think i would ever be able to eat a krispy kreme again after that....they would never taste the same!!

Katie, what an interesting concoction! Hmmm...and I like Paula Deen and all her yummy artery clogging foods. I am pregnant and this doesn't look that great to me...maybe just the Krispy Kremes by themselves...doggone it I'm going to start craving one and they don't have those in Germany.
