Bad to Worse
Good thing the first part of our Saturday was so wonderful, because the last hour of it has been ROUGH! Tonight was David's first softball game of the summer with the church league, and unfortunately, the schedule was for him to play at 8 & 9 pm. You all KNOW that is WAY past Schrodt children's bedtimes. However, with strawberry picking fun this morning, they all had late naps so we decided to try and make an appearance to cheer for the first game at least. We lasted about 30 minutes before having to take some fit-throwing boys home early. Good grief. The evening went from bad to worse when, while washing them off in the bathtub, I found a tick on Jacob's back. Sigh. At least everyone's in bed now...off to hull some more strawberries!

That was the story of our nite last nite too. Way to late for Judd boys & we're paying for it now... Oh well...
i've left a few places with boys kicking and screaming! not a fun thing!!! hope today has been better!!!
did you get the tick off by yourself? and how the heck do you HULL strawberries? for what?
It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one with a boy who likes to pitch a fit. We've been having a few too many of those lately. My patience is certainly wearing thin. I've really been hoping that turning three would make things easier, but apparently that might be wishful thinking!
I hope David did well in his first game. Ryan's not allowed to play church softball anymore since he torn his hamstring playing two years ago (I'm the one who made the rule, so he'll probably decide to break it at some point). It took month of physical therapy to repair. Ryan gets a little too aggressive when playing sports. Your blog wouldn't even have enough room to list of all his injuries from playing college baseball :)
Thank goodness you found the tick. I hope it was a big one and not one of those tiny deer ticks. Keep an eye out for a red circle around that spot.
Sorry it was a rough evening:( I'm sure all of us moms have experience with fit throwing kids...I'm amazed you got a bath out of them (without another fit)...if Jake is already in "meltdown" mode, bathtime is a real headache...necessary, but definitely a hassle, especially by yourself! Then you had the tick on top of it! Yikes! Hopefully you got some good rest after all that!
You know the Hoare boy was home in bed for his usual 7pm bedtime. Trevor's last game was at 8 adn I said no way. With as busy as our Sundays always are, we know Grayson needs a good nights rest!! Here's to those earlier games!!!
